In March, we wrote about how Bing is now able to show product results based on a particular price query. While the thrifty shopper in me rejoiced at this development, little did I know that their Shopping feature would get a facelift more than a month later.
Last week, Microsoft’s search engine unveiled the new look of Bing Shopping that is aimed at providing a more enjoyable and streamlined user experience. If you are into scoring some great bargains online, here are some changes that you might find particularly interesting.
Homepage Makeover. Find what you need even before you enter a search query. The new and improved homepage now contains the latest – from relevant articles to popular brand names to gift ideas. According to Bing’s April 28 post, the idea is to bring “together popular items and content so you can spend less time searching and more time shopping.” (See the screenshot below.)
Detailed Results Pages. Bigger images mean you can peruse the potential merchandise more closely. With list and grid views, you can compare items with ease. Since user reviews and a “find the best price” option can be seen on the same page, you can conveniently do your research and keep track of your budget at the same time. (See the screenshot below.)
