Smart Traffic SEO Tip #60 – SiteNotice Messages for Increasing Number of Crawl Errors
Google announced recently that they are now sending notifications whenever a robot detects a significant increase in number of crawl errors in a certain site. The information is shown in the Crawl Errors section of the Webmaster Tools. Factors affecting the URLs from being crawled are: having a 404 response; those disallowed by robots.txt; and blocked using meta robots tag “noindex”.
These notifications are very helpful to webmasters because this will give information regarding crawl related issues of the site and deal those issues.

To receive these notifications you have to verify your site first in Webmaster Tools. You can use the email forwarding feature also if you want to receive these alerts in your inbox.
