Smart Traffic Review of the Google +1 Button for Websites (Part 2)

Earlier this month, we reviewed the Google +1 button for websites. This time around I am quite pleased to announce that Google’s very own seal of approval has become turbo charged. True to its passion for producing quality results in the shortest time possible, Google has now made the loading time for this feature a lot faster. Where liking a particular button used to take a couple of seconds, it has now become almost instantaneous. And the best part about it? You need not go through all the trouble of appending long codes to your site.

At this point, you might be wondering what changes Google has been working on to make this new improvement possible? Introducing the new asynchronous snippet. In a recent Google post, author David Byttow explains:

In addition to the improvements made to the button, we’re also introducing a new asynchronous snippet, allowing you to make the +1 experience even faster. The async snippet allows your web page to continue loading while your browser downloads the +1 JavaScript. By loading these elements in parallel, we’re ensuring the HTTP request to get the +1 button JavaScript doesn’t lead to an increase in your page load time. For those of you who have already implemented the button, you’ll need to update the code to the new async snippet, and then you should see an overall improvement in your page load time.

The great thing about this new improvement in the Google +1 button is that if you already have one on your site, all you need to do generate the async snippet using the +1 Configuration Tool. The way I see it, those hardworking Googlers have truly delivered on their need to bring speed to all our +1s. Enhance your SEO experience by adapting this change today.
