Content now plays a big role in SEO world. It helps your site to rank in search engines, gain more traffic and build site trust and credibility. That is why in order to increase page’s relevancy with regards to its targeted keyword, one has to make a keyword-rich content while making it very natural and useful for the readers.

Below are the things to consider:

1. Keyword Frequency and Density

• Keyword frequency is the number of times a particular keyword appears on a website while keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page.

• Note that Google does not say anything about what the precise keyword density/frequency is. Nowadays, 1 occurrence of keyword is already enough and take note that keyword stuffing (loading page with too many keywords) is STILL among those things that are against Google guidelines.

2. Keyword Prominence

• Refers to how prominent your keywords are within your web page OR how close your keywords are to the beginning of your content or sentence.

3. Keyword proximity

• Refers to how close two or more keywords are to each other. The closer the keywords, the better.

• Applying keyword proximity in your content will help you consider other relevant terms without the need to repeat your main keyword.

• Example, for this sentence “When you’re looking for an affordable, high-quality leather bags, then you have come to the right place!”, you already have considered the following keywords without the need to repeat the term “bags”.

4. Use of Synonyms and Supporting Terms

• Using synonyms in writing content is very common already. But don’t you know that using supporting terms is also a way in building out concept and theme for your content, thus increasing overall relevancy as well.

• Example, for you main keyword “TOYS”, you could consider the using the following in your content as supporting terms:

dolls
collectibles
gifts
games
miniatures
playthings
action figures
learning toys
baby & toddler toys

5. Last but not the least, spread the keywords!

• Sprinkle keywords in different paragraphs of the content. This will let you coordinate your whole content to your main keyword/s.
