Twitter’s latest hatchling is now ready to take its first few steps. Fans of this micro-blogging service from all over the world will be pleased to know that the photo sharing feature is already in the roll out process. This development is of course related to the article posted on our SEO blog in early June about the new features that are sure to enhance user-experience for this social network.

So how does it work?

After logging on to your personal account on Twitter, look for the camera icon below that blank space intended for tweets. It is typically found on the left side of “add your location” . The roll out is done at random so a quick peek would tell if you are amongst the lucky ones.

The process is pretty simple, you simply click on the button then upload an image from your computer. A thumbnail of your chosen photo will appear . Note that pictures can only be added one at a time and that this action will cause you to lose about 19 characters or more.

Similar to any new feature, Twitter’s photo sharing has its share of pros and cons. On a positive note, it maintains the authorship of the image because it is linked to the person who posted it in a tweet. However, there is currently no way to manage the photo. Also, there are no safeguards (option for flagging copyright restrictions) in case you do not want others to use a particular picture.

Obviously, there are some tweaks that need to be done here and there. Hopefully more developments are on the way and will be in place before everyone gets a chance to use it. Are you already sharing vacation snapshots? Tell us what you think of this new project today!
