YouTube Enhances Search with New Filter and Explore Feature
Indeed fine tuning algorithms are definitely in fashion. We are not even halfway through the year and yet we are already seeing search engines and social networking sites rife with new developments. February saw Google unveiling its Panda Update. More recently, Twitter’s enchanced search feature was announced. Now, it is YouTube’s turn to make a change.
According to the announcement on YouTube’s Help Forum, their team has “expanded the functionality of the Search Options feature” and reorganized it so that you have the options to explore new YouTube Topics through search. In the SEO world, such an improvement can certainly prove to be useful since a lot of tips and tricks come in the form of instructional or informative videos. For instance, when you search for clips featuring Matt Cutts using the new Filter and Explore option (found on the upper left portion) you can refine results based on video type, date posted etc. This makes it much easier for Internet marketers and curious web guys to get their daily dose of the Google software engineer’s SEO wisdom.
